How To Choose The Right Exercise Equipment

Do you notice that every time you go to the gym there seems to be a new machine present? This just means that there is more than one way to achieve a great-looking body. Of course, it also means that the weight loss industry is a very lucrative one so new machines are being developed often. Of course, not all gym equipment are the same though. Some are more useful than others. And then there are those that you really can do without. If you are looking to buy an exercise equipment for your home gym, then you really need to choose well. You cannot just buy any equipment that catches your fancy. This article will discuss the top pieces of gym equipment that you can buy.

Free Weights

If you are pressed for space and budget, then the best exercise equipment that you can get are free weights like dumbbells and barbells. Many experts consider free weights as the best gym equipment ever invented and they could be right. When it comes to building mass and even in defining muscles, nothing can still beat free weights. This is the reason why even after countless machines have been invented, most gyms still have free weights. And if you think weights are good only for toning and building muscles, then you’ve never heard of circuit training which is also a good way to lose weight and build endurance just like cardio.

Treadmills, Stationary Bikes and Rowing Machines

Running, walking and jogging are good cardio routines. But not all of us are blessed with surroundings that are conducive to running. Thank God for treadmills. With a good treadmill, you can reproduce the experience of walking, jogging and running outdoors in the comforts of your living room or home gym. If you are not into running or jogging, then you can buy a stationary bike instead that simulates riding a bicycle. If you are more of a water sports person then you can get a rowing machine.

The problem with the machines mentioned above is that all of them are quite bulky and would require a significant amount of space. They are definitely not for people living in cramp spaces. And of course, if you can run, bike or row outdoors then that’s better than using an exercise equipment. Nothing beats the real thing as they say.

Mini Trampolines

A mini trampoline like the needak rebounder is a good alternative to bulky exercise machines such as a treadmill or a rowing machine and it provides more benefits. Unlike jogging and running, rebounding is a low-impact workout. If you are prone to foot or leg pains or if you are a senior already, then a mini trampoline is more suitable for you than a treadmill. Mini trampolines do not take up much space because most models can be folded and stowed away easily when not being used. You can always run or bike outside without machines. But you cannot replicate the action of rebounding without a mini trampoline.

Pathetic Haye Refuses To Apologise

David Haye has stated that he will not apologize for his part in the disgraceful brawl with Dereck Chisora which brought British boxing into a state of disrepute. Despite footage being released clearly showing Haye wielding a camera tripod and launching a punch at Chisora.

Regardless of whether he sees himself as the innocent party he clearly antagonised Chisora and behaved in a pathetic manner. He is now saying that Chisora has an anger problem and that he should check himself into an anger managment clinic, though this seems a bit rich when we look at the footage of the night and see the look of pure hatred etched across his face.

Listening to his latest comments we have lost all respect for Haye, who appears to live in his own fantasy world, tailoring situations in his mind to make them fit to how he wants to see them. Shame on you David Haye.

Time For Cleverly To Challenge A Real Fighter?

Cleverly cruised to victory in Cardiff last night with a unanimous points decision, winning all 12 rounds on each of the judges cards. What was set as a mismatch from the get-go delivered more than was origionally expected, with challenger Karpency putting up a good showing, delivering some good shots and demonstrating his durability. However, the gap between the fighters was just too wide, with Karpency struggling to win a minute of the fight, let alone a full round. At a glance the stats clearly show Cleverly’s dominance, with a Karpency only managing a paltry hit rate of 13% of punches thrown – 87 landed from 692, whilst Cleverly hit the target 38% of the time – 374 of 987 landed.

Despite the clear victory and dominance displayed in Cleverly’s performance this fight has done little to quell the doubts over whether or not he has any real class. So far he is yet to take on a fighter of real substance upon which he can demonstrate his talents.

Over at badlefthook.com they really tell it straight, “When you consider that his best world title fight has been against the mediocre Tony Bellew, it starts sinking in how lousy this reign is shaping up to be.” Head over to their site to read their full and somewhat scathing summary. Time for Cleverly to prove himself and step in with some real competition? We think so, let us know what you think by leaving a comment below.

Cleverly Seeks To Restore British Boxing Pride

After the recent events surrounding the David Haye and Dereck Chisora brawl and ensuing shame of British boxing, Nathan Cleverly is looking to restore some pride and is keen to point out the positive influence boxing has had on his life.

From a young age Cleverly was frequently involved in scraps on street corners, school yards and in fields. He would stand up to bullies and regularly challenge himself against opponents. At a certain age he realized that his compulsion for fighting wasn’t normal and upon visiting a gym his father took him to he began to focus his energies on competing in the ring, not outside. Acknowledging that he has seen many friends and peers go downhill and land up in prison, where he may have been had he not discovered boxing.

Keen to assert the discipline which boxing taught him, he says that the influence of trainers can have a profoundly positive effect on the direction fighters lives take, realizing that there is no place for violence outside the ring. Cleverly also states that the discipline learnt through boxing helped him to push on with his school studies and to finally achieve a 2:2 in mathematics, graduating from Cardiff University recently in 2010.

Hopefully we will see a solid performance tonight and one that will dispel the unpleasant memories of last Saturday night. Add a comment and let us know what you think. We’ll have a write up of the fight as soon as it finishes.

To get more information about cleverly you can visit his Wikipedia page, with full details of his career so far and you can read about his most recent victory over Tony Bellew back in October 2011 at the BBC. Alternatively head over to the official Nathan Cleverly website.

The wife of the most powerful man in the world, First Lady Michelle Obama, recently demonstrated her superior strength and fitness on the Ellen show. Broadcasting to the world on the Ellen show to promote her “Let’s Move” campaign she was not afraid to enter into a push up contest with the chat show host. Obama is noted for her campaigns to help improve the fitness standards of the American public and adheres to a punishing physical fitness regime to keep her in good health, setting a fine example to the rest of the country and actually representing the values she promotes. The training she undertakes has been said to include the likes of yoga, boxing, dumbbells workouts and the always testing interval training.

Footage From Haye’s Perspective

After the release of the latest, and somewhat damning footage of the brutal clash between David Haye and Dereck Chisora, Haye has left to holiday in LA. The footage shows Haye wielding a camera tripod, swinging menacingly for Chisora’s trainer, Don Charles.

German police are currently looking into the case more deeply and considering whether or not charges should be brought to Haye. If so, it is thought that he could serve up to five years in prison, a thought which must be somewhat troubling for the ex champion.

Shame On British Boxing

The new footage has shed light on the situation, where previously there was no single piece of footage that allowed such as clear and condemning view of the actions of Haye. Not only has he landed a punch on Chisora whilst holding a bottle, he has seemingly attempted to cause bodily harm to Chisora’s trainer.

The proceedings of the nights events and those leading up to them had already damaged the reputation of British boxing, however, Chisora did manage to quell the tide of animosity with a brave, if misguided, performance in the ring against Klitschko. Now, though, it would appear that a stain has been ingrained in the fabric of British boxing, something which these two fighters must surely be punished for, while the British boxing community attempts to regain some respect.

Looking further into the video, with careful listening it is clear that Haye is immediately aware of what his actions may have cost him. We can hear Chisora shouting to Haye “you glassed me, you glassed me” to which Haye retorts “You think I’m gonna lose my license over you”. However, whether or not he realized the full implications of a potential custodial sentence are unclear, but we can be sure that he is now feeling the heat as he looks set to be held accountable for his actions.

Chisora Vs Artur Szpilka?

Meanwhile, Chisora has been seen holidaying in Poland, where he was called out by Polish fighter Artur Szpilka, who praised the effectiveness of Chisora’s pre fight behavior, saying ‘It was ugly and unsportsmanlike, but very effective.” He also went on to state that he believed it was Haye who held the ultimate responsibility for the ugly proceedings of the events in post fight press conference, stating ’Blame Haye, who came there just to provoke Chisora” which could not be more contrary to the statement released from Haye’s camp .

Szpilka went on further, pressing home his seriousness for arranging the bout and expressing his belief in the interest that would be created by such a match, ’I called around to my promoter Andrew Wasilewski, asking if I could arrange a duel (with Chisora). That would be a great fight of two bullies, and the action would be not only in the ring, but also at the weigh-in and press conferences. It is possible that this would be two or three fights.’

However, Chisora is set to face British boxing chiefs on the 14th March, where it is deemed highly likely that he will be given a lengthy, if not lifetime ban, making the chance of the fight ever coming to fruition somewhat doubtful.

Chisora Slaps Klitschko

Chisora appears to have hammered the final nail into the coffin of crippling defeat that will inevitably befall him in tomorrows startling mismatch. Slapping Klitschko hard in the face after stepping off the scales at the weigh in this afternoon, Chisora has thrown away any chance of Klitschko taking mercy on him. As a visible mark appeared as testament to the venom and malice behind the blow, it was clear that this was no joke, and that the pre-fight banter and hype had been pushed too far. Expect a brutal and swift ending to this fight come Saturday night!

The recent heavyweight bout between David Haye vs Wladimir Klitschko was notorious for its high ticket prices with some floor seats reaching over £1500.(my other sporting passion Chelsea Tickets also show no sign of diminishing prices) The fight then turned out to be a huge disappointment for many keen boxing fans with the Hayemaker failing to make any significant impact.

With boxing tickets costing this much and it only being available on pay-per-view no wonder recent years have led to an exodus of fans to other sports.

Exercise in style on the C5.1e, safe in the knowledge that as this trainer is from the internationally renowned brand of Reebok, you can really get fit through a brand you can trust.

The main focus point of this monster of an elliptical cross trainer is the huge 20kg flywheel, capable of handling the toughest training session, and providing a much more liquid motion than other elliptical cross trainers.

The resistance levels on the C5.1e are driven by electricity, enabling use of a handy design system called the M-Force Direct Drive System. This allows a user-defined resistance between 25 and 400 watts, with 5 watt increments, for complete control of work out agenda.

With its stylish and sleek design, the Reebok C5.1e Elliptical Cross Trainer is really a leader in its field.
